Class C RV
One of the most common types of motorhomes is the Class C RV. This camper is built on a truck chassis and is very popular among
vacationing families. Most people will recognize the Class C motorhome because it features a bed over the cab. These campers typically range in length from 19 to 31 feet long. Those looking for an economical RV will find that the Class C RV is much more affordable than its larger Class A counterpart.

If you are looking for certain features or amenities, the Class C RV comes with a variety of options. Both gas and diesel engines are available. There are also models with sides that slide out to add more space to the interior or a wide body design that offers a width of 102 inches.
Many families will find that the bed over the cab is the ideal size for a young child. Most models feature a bed over the cab, however some come equipped with an entertainment center and storage in that spot instead. Some models feature front seats that swivel, which adds to the available space. C
lass Cs feature a kitchen and dinette area found in the middle of the camper. The dinette and sofa often double as sleeping accommodations, as both turn into beds. Some of the longer models will feature an enclosed separate bedroom in the rear of the cabin. The bathroom is located in the back next to the bed or in the hallway before the separate bedroom. Most models have a number of closets for storage space.

There are several pros and cons with the Class C RV:
Pros:
- Those who aren’t used to driving an RV will find that the Class C camper’s relatively small size makes it fairly easy to drive.
- Although the Class C is compact, it typically features as many beds as larger RVs.
- The Class C is less expensive than other larger motorhomes.
Cons:
- Space is limited and conditions may be a bit cramped.
- Sleeping may be a bit of a hassle as the beds need to be put together each night and put back in the morning.
- The size of the front windshield is often the same as the standard truck, which some drivers might find limiting.
Gas mileage typically isn’t much better than that of a much larger Class A RV. This means the Class C costs the same to drive but has much fewer features and amenities.
The Class C RV costs anywhere from $45,000 to $100,000 on average. This wide price range is reflective of the variety of sizes of the vehicle and the features offered.
Those who want to travel with a relatively small camper that is easy to drive will find that the Class C camper is the perfect fit. The number of beds makes it ideal for families with small children. If you are looking for a small motorhome to take on family vacations, the Class C RV may be the right choice for you.
